How to Delete Your MindLoad Account

What Happens When You Delete Your Account
When you confirm account deletion in the app (or after we verify an email request), your account and study data are removed immediately. This matches how the MindLoad app works and our Privacy Policy.
Removed right away:
- Your account profile and sign-in (you cannot log in again with that account)
- All study sets, flashcards, and quiz questions
- Uploaded PDFs, images, and text content
- Study session history and progress data
- Achievement records and streaks
- All tokens — your entire balance is permanently lost and cannot be recovered or refunded
- Notification preferences and settings
Not recoverable: We do not offer an undo or grace period after you confirm deletion. Export your data first if you need a copy.
Backend copies: Encrypted backups may retain fragments for up to 90 days before automated purge. We do not restore deleted accounts or study data from backups for routine requests.
Critical: Account deletion is immediate and permanent from your perspective. There is no recovery period. All tokens are forfeited. This action cannot be undone.
Method 1: Delete via App Settings (Recommended)
If you have access to the MindLoad app, this is the fastest way to delete your account:
Steps to Delete in App:
- Open the MindLoad app on your device
- Tap on your profile icon (top right corner)
- Navigate to Settings or Account Settings
- Scroll down to find Delete Account or Account Deletion
- Read the warning message carefully
- Confirm that you want to delete your account
- Enter your password or use biometric authentication to confirm
- Your account and data are deleted immediately and permanently — there is no recovery period
Note: The exact location of the delete option may vary slightly between iOS and Android versions. Look for "Account", "Privacy", or "Data" sections in Settings.
Method 2: Request Deletion via Email
If you cannot access the app (lost device, app uninstalled, or technical issues), you can request account deletion by email:
Email Request Process:
- Send an email to [email protected]
- Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
- Include the following information:
- Your account email address
- Your display name (if you remember it)
- Confirmation that you want to permanently delete your account
- Reason for deletion (optional, but helps us improve)
- We will verify your identity and process the deletion within 7 business days
- Once verified, your account is deleted the same way as in-app deletion — immediate, with no recovery
- You will receive a confirmation email once your account has been deleted
⚠️ Important: For security reasons, we may need to verify your identity before processing the deletion request. This may require additional information or verification steps.
What Data is Retained
Even after account deletion, some information may be retained for legal or operational purposes:
- Transaction records: Purchase receipts and transaction IDs may be retained for financial record-keeping (as required by law)
- Anonymized analytics: Aggregated, non-personally identifiable usage data may be retained for product improvement
- Legal compliance: Data required to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes
All personally identifiable information will be removed from these records where possible.
Before You Delete
Consider the following before proceeding:
- Export your data: If you want to keep a copy of your study sets, export them before deletion (if this feature is available in your app version)
- Token balance: All tokens are permanently lost immediately upon deletion. They cannot be refunded or transferred.
- No recovery: Deletion is final. We cannot restore your account, data, or tokens after you confirm.
- Re-download the app: If you want to use MindLoad again after deletion, you'll need to create a completely new account and start over from scratch
- Linked accounts: If you signed in with Apple or Google, you may need to revoke access separately in those services
